Seminary and Institute Concludes

As the school year ends, we bring a close to the seminary and institute program for this year.  It has been a great year studying the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History.  We have held scripture mastery classes each week with the students trying to help them with their memorization of the 25 mastery scriptures for the year.  We have been able to learn most of the scriptures along with them, but they are great and memorize so much faster than us and we have only had half the year to do it in.  More than 2/3 of the students memorized all 25 scriptures and were presented with a certificate at our graduation program on Sunday, May 29th at the Lelu Chapel. We had 4 students who also had 100% attendance for the year. The graduation was presided over by President Jonathan, the Kosrae District President and both Branch Presidents were in attendance to congratulate the students when they received their awards.  We had one student graduate from the institute program.

 We had a good turn out for this graduation with many attending who didn't have someone in their family graduating or getting any certificates, but just came to be supportive of the program.  Following the program we had some great refreshments.  Ice cream is a big hit with everyone here and so we had a line-up of people waiting to get their ice cream cones and a donut.  

Many people brought their entire family and here are just a few of the young ones enjoying an ice cream cone on the steps of the Church.
